Deux Lapins is a baby textile brand built by two mothers, for every mother. Founded by Müge and Bige — two old friends raising daughters in two different cities, London and Zurich — Deux Lapins began the way the best ideas do: out of necessity, and out of love.

Our Story

We couldn’t find baby muslins that were both genuinely safe and genuinely beautiful. Everything on the market was either certified but plain, or pretty but made from fabrics we didn’t feel comfortable wrapping our newborns in. So we made our own.

Deux Lapins — French for “two rabbits” — started as a small collection of muslin swaddles designed with hand-drawn bunny prints. Today, it’s grown into a full range of baby textiles: swaddles, hooded towels, nursing covers, play mats, clothing and more. Every product is made from 100% OEKO-TEX certified cotton, tested and verified free from harmful substances.

We use every product we make in our own families. That’s not a marketing line — it’s the only quality standard we’ve ever needed.

Why Muslin?

Muslin has been used for babies for centuries, and for good reason. Its open weave makes it naturally breathable and temperature-regulating — two things that matter enormously for newborn sleep safety. The NHS and The Lullaby Trust both recommend breathable fabrics for baby sleep, and muslin sits at the top of that list.

But not all muslins are equal. We use only OEKO-TEX certified cotton — which means every thread, dye, and finish has been independently tested and is free from harmful chemicals. For a newborn whose skin absorbs everything it touches, this matters.

Made for the UK

Our UK home is London. We understand British weather, British nurseries, and the very particular experience of being a new parent in the UK — the cold flat in January, the surprise heatwave in June, the baby shower that needs a gift that actually gets used.
